Delhi Police on September 23 arrested 42‑year‑old Parvati, a known drug‑runner, and her bodyguard Vikas Kumar in New Sanoth Colony, Bawana. The raid uncovered 1.204 kg of heroin, Rs 56.69 lakh in cash, 355 g of gold and 161 g of silver, and a Tata Harrier.
Parvati, whose criminal record lists 12 cases under the NDPS and Excise Acts, was living with Kumar — a 30‑year‑old resident of Sant Nagar — while she allegedly used the proceeds to build a house in JJ Colony. Police seized registration papers for four properties and two cars she owned.
The operation followed a tip from the Outer North district's Anti‑Narcotics Squad, who had been tracking a supply network stretching from Delhi to Rajasthan. Officers raided the second floor of a rented flat, seized the drugs and valuables, and arrested the two suspects without resistance.
The case underscores how drug syndicates infiltrate ordinary neighborhoods. Niaz, Parvati's husband, said he had no idea of her activities, and the family is now grappling with the fallout of the raid.
Parvati and Kumar face charges under Section 35 of the NDPS Act, with the Delhi Police filing the formal complaint. Their trial is scheduled for September 30 in the Delhi High Court, where the prosecution will present the seized evidence.
Police have already announced that all recovered assets will be handed over to the state, and a review of the Bawana colony's security protocols is underway.
