The video showed a boy and a girl being harassed on a roadside in Jamui, sparking social media outrage. Police arrested several participants, and the main accused, Nandan Yadav, was reportedly injured during a police encounter en route to the crime scene.
At a press conference in Patna, Yadav slammed the ruling BJP‑led government, calling the incident proof that “women and girls are not safe anywhere in Bihar.” He echoed a prior statement by CM Choudhary, who had said he would resign if anyone was harmed in Munger, and challenged the CM to follow through.
Yadav accused alliance members of trying to justify the harassment, saying “you all must have seen the video, and the unfortunate part is that those in the ruling alliance are trying to justify it.” He warned that Bihar is slipping into a “gundaraaj” as law and order deteriorates.
The CM's office has yet to release a response, leaving the opposition’s resignation call hanging in limbo. Meanwhile, police continue to investigate, and opposition rallies are expected in the coming days.
