Onkholer, represented by advocates Akash Krishna and Pragati Sharma, accused Kom of labeling him a cheat who abandoned her and failed to earn an independent livelihood. The allegations stem from a television interview aired on January 11, where Kom supposedly called him a "financial parasite" and claimed he had no career of his own.
The complaint, lodged at the Judicial Magistrate First Class court in Delhi, cites that Onkholer siphoned money from Kom’s bank accounts, took out loans in her name, and neglected child‑rearing duties. He disputes the claim that the couple’s marriage ended through a customary dissolution on December 20, 2023, insisting he sacrificed his own prospects to support her boxing career.
Judge Shivam Gupta will take pre‑summoning evidence (PSE) to decide whether to issue a summons to Kom. The hearing is slated for November 19, after the magistrate reviews the documentary and oral statements filed.
Kom, currently a contestant on the reality show "Big Boss," remains silent on the matter. Onkholer says the televised remarks caused him mental distress and tarnished his reputation as a spouse and father. The case now hinges on the court’s assessment of the truthfulness of Onkholer’s claims and the veracity of Kom’s statements.
