General NS Raja Subramani told the NDTV Defence Summit on Sunday that the Line of Actual Control with China is calm and there is no cause for alarm.
The statement came after a high‑level meeting between President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, signalling a thaw in diplomatic tensions that had flared after the 2020 Ladakh clash.
Subramani highlighted that contact between Indian and Chinese border personnel continues unabated, with periodic Border Personnel Meetings taking place on both sides of the LAC.
He stressed that the Indian armed forces remain on high alert, prepared to respond quickly and decisively, and that this readiness extends to countering any threats from Pakistan.
The General referenced last year’s Operation Sindoor, which dismantled terror bases in Pakistan, underscoring India’s commitment to regional stability.
Ahead of the next scheduled LAC meeting, Defence officials will review operational protocols and assess any emerging flashpoints, ensuring a rapid response capability remains intact.
