Barbara Corcoran closed on the 3,100‑sq‑ft Fifth Avenue penthouse on Tuesday, paying $16 million, after outbidding herself twice and offering to cover the flip tax.
The penthouse, which boasts a wrap‑around terrace overlooking Central Park and the Met, was acquired seven months before its official listing, according to Architectural Digest.
Corcoran sold her former Upper East Side duplex for $13.5 million in October, earning a $1.5 million profit after $2 million in renovations, according to Realtor.com.
The nine‑month makeover, led by designer Allegra O. Eifler and executed by Shadow Architect and RCC Cabinetry, blended coastal warmth with Upper East Side sophistication, featuring custom seating, patterned wallpaper, and a bronze spiral chandelier.
Corcoran, who first spotted the property as a messenger, said the home feels like a "beach house on Fifth Avenue" and plans to list it for $18 million next month.
