Vadgaon Maval court accepted a 5,053-page chargesheet on Saturday, formally outlining the state's case against Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal’s alleged killers. The document marks a critical procedural milestone in one of Maharashtra’s most scrutinized homicide investigations.
Pune Rural Police submitted the dossier detailing the June 18 death of Agarwal, who was allegedly pushed off Lohagad Fort. The investigation names Siya Goyal, Agarwal’s fiancée, along with Chetan Choudhary and Ritesh Hange as the primary accused. A police official confirmed the chargesheet includes call detail records, mobile phone data, and technical analysis certificates.
The evidence reveals a chilling pattern of premeditation. According to the chargesheet, Siya Goyal conducted online searches regarding a similar incident at Lohagad where a woman lost her life the previous year. Investigators also found traces of research into the Sonam Raghuvanshi case, where a woman was held after her husband Raja Raghuvanshi was murdered during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. Raja’s body was found near a waterfall in East Khasi Hills on June 2, weeks after he went missing on May 23.
The volume of digital forensics suggests the defense will face a technical challenge. The prosecution relies heavily on metadata and search history to establish motive and method. The next phase will involve the court scheduling arraignment dates for the three accused.
