Four men, including three minors, raped and murdered a 17‑year‑old girl near Jaipal Rana's field on Kushak Road in central Delhi, police say. The victim's body, found on September 13, had decomposed to the point that her gender could not be immediately identified, and stray dogs had consumed parts of it, officials added.
The girl had been traveling with the accused in a tempo, where they allegedly drank together before the assault. The family reported that she often left home alone and returned after a few days, but she was not listed as missing.
Police combed over 50 CCTV feeds to track a tempo moving near the scene at the relevant time. The vehicle's registration was unclear in the darkness, but investigators mapped its path across several cameras, eventually locating the driver and interrogating him.
The arrest yielded four suspects: Shivam alias Sudama alias Chuchu from Khadda Colony and three juveniles aged 16 and 17. Forensic teams recovered two knives, clothes believed to belong to the accused, and the tempo used in the crime.
A case has been registered under sections of the BNS and the POCSO Act, and investigators are compiling forensic and technical evidence before filing a charge sheet.
