Three youths – Kunal, Yash, and Deepak – were taken into custody by Faridabad police on Monday after a 13‑year‑old girl was gang‑raped in an abandoned building on Aug 24. The police said the girl had gone to meet a 16‑year‑old friend after her tuition classes, only to be lured by a group of six youths who forced the pair into the derelict structure, where the girl was assaulted.
The complaint reached the police on Sep 28, triggering an FIR on Sep 29. ACP Sarai Sandeep Mor confirmed that the accused were produced before a magistrate and remanded to police custody for four days, during which investigators will examine every facet of the alleged crime.
Parents of the victim revealed that the girl had kept the incident secret for a month, only admitting the abuse after her mother noticed signs of severe mental distress. The mother’s prompt intervention led to the filing of the case.
The complaint also alleges that the 16‑year‑old boy was subjected to an unnatural sexual assault and that one of the accused forced the minors to transfer Rs 10,000 to his bank account. All of these claims remain under active investigation.
Meanwhile, a fourth suspect named Prince is still at large. Police are coordinating with local authorities to locate him while the remanded youths await further questioning during their four‑day custody period.
