Sting and Trudie Styler bought the 350‑hectare Il Palagio in 1997, setting in motion a restoration that spanned the villa, barns, vineyards and olive groves.
They reintegrated the estate’s historic grain mills and wine‑pressing facilities, restoring them to working order while preserving the villa’s Tudor‑style façade and gardens.
In 2007 the first vintage of the estate’s Sister Moon Toscana IGT wine hit the market, marking the first time Il Palagio produced a branded product under its own name.
By 2021 the estate opened a farm shop and pizzeria, offering visitors the chance to taste its olive oil, honey and the 2007 wine, while the 2024 launch of La Taverna dei Lupi added a pop‑up street‑food venue and live‑music stage.
The estate remains a summer home for the Styler family; their daughter, born there, now helps oversee the orchard, a reminder that the property is as much a family life as a business.
Sting and Styler plan to expand honey production next season, aiming to double output while keeping the farm’s organic certification intact.
