Kharge told a joint session of the INDIA bloc that 84‑year‑old Congress leader will mobilise all non‑BJP MPs to the Election Commission on Oct. 6, 2026, to protest alleged manipulation of the electoral process.
The report, published last week, recorded 14 formal objections lodged by EC members Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi against decisions under Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, citing centralisation of the ECINet database and unilateral form changes.
Kharge said the bloc will seek an audience with President on the second week of October to highlight institutional takeover, and will file an appeal to the Supreme Court to expedite pending SIR cases.
Rahul Gandhi and Mamata Banerjee have also raised the issue, but Kharge says the ruling party has ignored them.
The opposition’s plan includes five rallies in October and November, with a major march in Delhi on Nov. 1 to expose what it terms "vote chori", and the next step will be the Supreme Court appeal.
