The Congress party’s campaign kicks off in the heartland of Punjab, where senior leaders KC Venugopal and Sachin Pilot met with local cadres before Rahul Gandhi’s arrival.
Venugopal, who landed in Chandigarh on Sunday evening, blasted the Bhagwant Mann government, arguing that Punjab has become the epicentre of the drug mafia and that law and order is "completely broken".
Pilot said the Congress would expose AAP’s failures and that "badlav"—meaning change—would hit Punjab, insisting the party is united and ready to take on the drug menace.
The rally is scheduled for 4 November, a day that Congress hopes will galvanise a younger electorate, with the party pledging to win the 2027 Assembly elections.
Ahead of the event, senior organizers will travel across districts to meet voters, while the party's national campaign team prepares a media blitz to counter AAP’s narrative.
If the rally succeeds, Congress will likely move to formalise its campaign strategy for the upcoming elections, with a vote expected on the day of the assembly's next session.
