Ather Energy has just rolled out its Konarc e‑scooter on August 29, slashing the price of a premium‑grade bike to under ₹1.3 lakh and offering a usable range that tops 120 km on a single charge.
The Konarc S 125km variant costs ₹1,21,999 ex‑showroom, while the base 100km model is ₹99,999 and the 161km version sits at ₹1,44,999. It packs a 3.5‑kW motor with a 3.6‑kWh lithium‑ion pack, giving it a top speed of about 60 km/h and a 0‑60 km/h acceleration in roughly 7.5 seconds.
For budget buyers, it sits right between the TVS iQube’s ₹1.07 lakh price and the Bajaj Chetak’s ₹1.13 lakh, making it an almost level‑price competitor that still boasts Ather’s signature build quality. The 125km range is a step up from the iQube’s 80km and matches the Chetak’s 110km, giving it an edge for longer commutes.
Ather’s sales machine has been heating up, with 800,822 units delivered since 2018 and 258,684 sold this year alone. The Konarc’s first month saw 217 units to showrooms, signalling a cautious rollout as the brand tests demand in major metros.
The company plans a 200km variant for Q3 2027 and a compact Konarc Z, but for now, the S 125km is the sweet spot for commuters who want a reliable, affordable electric scooter without compromising on range. Keep an eye on the delivery schedule, which starts in Bangalore and will roll out to Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai over the next few months.
