Born and raised in Mumbai, she admits she’d seen crowds chanting at Juhu Beach during Chhath Puja but knew nothing about the 36‑hour fast or the reverence for the setting sun. “I grew up in Mumbai, but I never knew the depth of the festival until I was in the set,” she told reporters, her voice softening.
The festival’s ritual—silence, no water, prayers to the Goddess—instilled a quiet reverence that made her feel something beyond the frame. “When I was shooting the scene, I started welling up and I don’t know why,” she said, “as artists, we are vessels, and I feel there is something beyond us that makes us feel certain things.”
Vvaan marks the first on‑screen pairing of Tamannaah and Sidharth Malhotra, backed by Balaji Telefilms and helmed by Deepak Kumar Misra. The ensemble also includes Manish Paul, Shweta Tiwari, Sunil Grover and Anup Soni, with a release set for September 25.
