Jeff Bezos' Bezos Earth Fund committed $4.8 million to 48 climate projects on Feb. 4, 2026, partnering with the Earthshot Prize to lift non‑finalist nominees. The three‑year collaboration will channel $100,000 to 16 organizations each year, enabling them to scale operations and extend reach.
Dr Kelly Levin, chief of science, data and systems change at the Bezos Earth Fund, said the initiative tackles the common bottleneck that keeps promising innovations from growing. "We want ideas that can deliver wider environmental benefits to get the funding they need," she added.
Jason Knauf, chief executive of the Earthshot Prize, noted the partnership taps into a global pipeline of innovators. "The nomination pool is a gold mine of solutions that deserve more than a nomination," Knauf said.
The first cohort includes Air Protein, Inc., which turns CO₂ into alternative proteins, and Instituto Floresta Viva, a Brazilian group restoring Atlantic Forest habitats. Hyperion Robotics will deploy robotic construction to cut concrete waste, while InPlanet works on enhanced rock weathering to capture carbon on farms.
Fund disbursements will begin in March 2026, with quarterly reviews to track impact. The Bezos Earth Fund will publish annual progress reports, and the Earthshot Prize will integrate the outcomes into its broader environmental impact metrics.
