The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed that on 10 Oct, a Houthi‑backed assault on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport wounded 12 Indians, one of whom succumbed to his injuries.
Of the survivors, three have been discharged, while eight remain hospitalized; four of them are in intensive care.
Jaiswal said embassy officials were visiting the patients daily and keeping families informed.
India has issued a sharp condemnation of the Houthi attack, calling it "totally unacceptable" and urging an immediate halt to assaults on civilian infrastructure.
In response, the embassy has issued travel advisories for Indian nationals in Saudi Arabia, urging them to stay updated on flight schedules, which have been disrupted for routes to Riyadh, Dammam, Medina and Jeddah.
The family of the deceased performed last rites in Riyadh with embassy assistance, and the incident has heightened concerns about expatriate safety across the region.
The Indian government will continue monitoring the situation, offering support to affected families and updating travel advisories as investigations unfold.
