Radhika Palace Private Limited, the company of Kedar Kashyap’s wife, was awarded a 23,327‑sq‑ft plot under the Labhandi‑Kachna‑Saddu development scheme, a kilometer from its original 1.33‑acre holding in Kachna.
The land records list the plot under the category “General,” a designation that has sparked debate over caste bias, even though the land is held by a corporate entity. Kedar Kashyap himself has remained silent, but BJP officials argue that a company cannot be linked to a caste.
RDA Vice‑Chairman JP Sharma defended the allotment by citing the scheme’s policy that larger holdings receive plots adjoining the proposed 45‑metre MR‑43 road. He added that 17 landowners, including those affiliated with the opposition, were granted similar road frontage.
Congress leader Dr Rakesh Gupta wrote to the Chief Secretary demanding an inquiry, citing Section 50 of the Chhattisgarh Town and Country Planning Act, 1973. He alleges the re‑constitution process shifted the plot too far from the original site and questions the criteria used for the new location.
A resident of Kachna’s Nalapara neighborhood said the new plot’s proximity to the wide MR‑43 would cut off the narrow access road that locals rely on daily. The formal investigation, expected to begin next month, will probe the legality of the re‑allocation process and the role of political influence.
