Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a Rs 407.56‑crore investment in Gujarat’s dairy sector on Oct. 30, 2026, including a 127‑acre Bharat Bovine Breeding Centre in Bhildi— a Centre of Excellence for genetic advancement backed by the National Dairy Development Board and ₹38.83 crore from the Rashtriya Gokul Mission.
Modi also virtually opened a ₹51.65‑crore upgraded French‑fries plant in Sanadar and a ₹31.14‑crore automated storage system in Palanpur, boosting processing capacity from two to five tonnes per hour and enabling the handling of 11,000 pallets across nine steel racks— an efficiency lift that cuts logistics costs for 418,000 milk producers.
Two new bio‑CNG plants will process 75 and 100 tonnes of cow dung daily in Tharad and Radhanpur, respectively, adding green energy production and a steady income stream for livestock rearers while reducing farmers’ fuel expenses.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Banas Dairy Chairman Shankarbhai Chaudhary, and NDDB Chairman Dr. Meenesh Shah praised the initiative; local producers said the projects will secure better prices for their milk and create jobs in the region.
