Rahul Gandhi told reporters on Monday that he had received messages from Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar while the opposition bloc was marching through Delhi.
The protest, part of a broader national campaign, aimed to confront the Election Commission over accusations of vote tampering and alleged irregularities in the last general election.
When asked about the alleged contact, Rahul said, "Messages aate hain," and added that the CEC was watching the press conference, implying a covert attempt to influence the opposition voice.
In a brief statement, the Election Commission’s office denied any direct communication with Rahul, saying that the CEC’s role is strictly administrative and that no messages were sent.
The opposition leaders plan to submit a petition to the Supreme Court next month, seeking a review of the election results and a probe into the alleged vote theft.
