Donald Trump told the UN General Assembly in New York that the United States will finalize a deal with Iran after the November 3, 2026 midterm elections. He added that the timing is strategic, noting Iran’s waiting game hinges on his campaign performance.
The Iranian delegation walked out during the address, leaving a lone delegate to remain seated.
Trump also warned that the U.S. would annihilate the Islamic Republic if it refuses to negotiate, stressing an unwavering stance to prevent Tehran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
He denied claims of a munitions shortage, asserting that the U.S. is expanding its stockpile faster than ever and that 18 new ammunition plants are under construction.
The high‑level debate, scheduled from September 22 to 26 and a final session on September 28, will feature world leaders tackling climate, development, and pandemic preparedness.
