The Sun and Daily Mail first reported that images were discovered in Thomas Markle’s former Philippine home, sparking accusations that the former TV lighting director possessed child‑abuse material.
Meghan Markle said she had blocked her father’s contact with their children following the discovery, citing the need to protect Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five.
Markle recalled a 2018 letter sent to the Metropolitan Police and Royalty and Specialist Protection that contained similar allegations against her father.
Police officials denied any active investigation, with a source confirming the Met had not opened a file on the claims.
Markle’s father, who declined to attend the Duchess’s 2018 wedding, denied the accusations, calling them "sick lies," and is reportedly in a Florida rehab centre.
The Duchess said she hopes justice will be served and that the priority remains the safety of innocent children, while the police say they are undertaking internal enquiries.
