India’s Embassy in Riyadh on Thursday, Oct 15, 2026, released a fresh advisory for its nationals in Saudi Arabia, warning them to remain indoors if an aerial attack occurs amid the escalating Gulf tensions.
The warning follows the Oct 10 drone and missile assault on King Khalid International Airport, which killed one Indian national and left 11 Indians wounded; two are now in ICU, one in a high‑dependency unit, three in a general ward, and one has been discharged.
Indian carriers—Air India, Air India Express, Akasa Air, and IndiGo—have halted flights to and from Saudi until Oct 17, while Akasa extended its suspension to Oct 24 and IndiGo to Oct 24 for Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Medina.
The embassy noted that flight operations remain suspended at Riyadh, with sporadic disruptions at Dammam, Jeddah, and Medina, and that Saudia continues to operate while Flynas runs the Dammam‑Lucknow route.
Consular teams in Jeddah and Makkah are now running 24‑hour control rooms, providing medical aid and coordinating with airlines to facilitate returns for stranded passengers.
Travelers needing urgent departure may fly from Bahrain, Kuwait, or Qatar, but must secure their own visas; those planning Umrah or other trips should monitor for sudden flight cancellations.
The next step: the embassy will monitor the situation and issue further guidance, with a possible lift of flight suspensions expected after Oct 24 if hostilities subside.
