Delhi Election Commission announced on Friday that a 24‑hour special voter camp will be held at every polling station in the National Capital Territory on September 27 to enrol citizens omitted from the draft electoral roll, after a record 1,21,224 Form‑6 applications were filed between August 31 and September 24.
The camp follows the first special camp conducted on September 20, and it is part of a broader effort to address disputes over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. In addition, the commission will run enrolment camps for young voters aged 18‑25 on September 29 and 30 at colleges and universities across Delhi, with Booth Level Officers providing rolls and blank Form‑6 applications on site.
The claims and objections period will remain open until September 30, with the commission announcing that all applications received during this window will be processed by October 29. The final electoral roll is scheduled for publication on November 4, 2026.
The announcement comes amid a heated backlash against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, who has been urged to resign by opposition parties and the Cockroach Janata Party. Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the latter, threatened nationwide protests on October 2 if Kumar does not step down within 48 hours.
The Delhi Chief Electoral Officer has urged citizens to verify their names in the draft roll and take advantage of the special camps. The commission’s press release also highlighted that claims can be submitted via Form‑6, Form‑6A, Form‑7, or Form‑8, either physically at EROs, AEROs, BLOs, or polling stations, or online through the voter services portal and the ECINET mobile app.
