Saruultuya, who had been spotted in the area before the event, approached the driver in a black Corvette and forced him to the ground, gun pointed to his head, before firing a single shot that grazed the right buttock.
Police traced the vehicle’s licence plate to Saruultuya, identified him in a photo lineup, and arrested him at the Pearl Dadeland Apartments. A search of his possession uncovered a cache of hard and soft drugs, including ketamine, cocaine, MDMA, and even Cialis pills, which he claimed were prescriptions.
He now faces multiple felony charges and is being held without bond at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Centre, where he denies the drug allegations.
Uber Eats said it was concerned and would cooperate with authorities, while the driver’s girlfriend, who was present during the confrontation, stood by Saruultuya but the driver managed to escape.
Saruultuya is scheduled to appear before a judge tomorrow for a preliminary hearing, with a full trial set for next week.
