Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to roll out a facelifted Wagon R with an ex‑showroom price of ₹7.24 lakh, nudging the top‑tier model slightly above the current ₹6.95 lakh level.
Since its 2019 launch, the third‑generation hatchback has been the smallest budget option for city commuters. The new design, while subtle, keeps the familiar silhouette but offers a fresher front end with a revised grille and slimmer headlamps.
Under the hood, the base variant will stay on the 1.0‑litre, three‑cylinder petrol engine, with a CNG‑charged version that now sports a low‑profile tank tucked under the floor. The higher trim could swap its 1.2‑litre, four‑cylinder K‑series unit for the newer 1.2‑litre, three‑cylinder Z‑series, delivering a better mpg figure without altering the power output.
The underbody CNG layout isn’t new to Maruti; the Brezza already uses it, freeing up boot room for passengers. For the Wagon R, that means more useful cargo space and a cleaner rear‑bulkhead.
The facelift is slated to arrive in late 2026, with dealerships in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru gearing up to showcase the updated model. Buyers will want to compare the new boot capacity and CNG efficiency to the Celerio and Tiago to decide if the price bump pays off.
