On September 14, 2026, Hussain’s family received a call from his roommate that he had died in his sleep. The cause remains unclear, and the family is awaiting a post‑mortem report. In the meantime, the family has reached out to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs for assistance.
MBT spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan posted a letter from Hussain’s father, Mohammed Zakir Hussain, to Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on X, urging the government to coordinate with U.S. authorities. Khan wrote, “I request your urgent and compassionate intervention in the tragic death of Mohammed Jaber Hussain, a resident of Santoshnagar, Hyderabad.”
The Indian mission in Boston is expected to liaise with the U.S. embassy in Washington to facilitate the transportation of Hussain’s remains back to Hyderabad. The family, described as belonging to an economically weaker section, hopes for a swift resolution to bring the deceased home.
