BSA India’s latest move is a fresh hue for the Gold Star 650, with the Birmingham Blue variant sliding into the market at ₹3.56 lakh ex‑showroom, a modest bump from the base Insignia Red. The new shade is a deeper blue that plays off the classic white pinstripes on the tank, giving the roadster a sportier look without touching the underlying design.
Alongside Birmingham Blue, the brand still offers Insignia Red (₹3.42 lakh), Shadow Black (₹3.46 lakh), Sheen Silver (₹3.60 lakh) and now Brooklands Black Legacy (₹3.65 lakh). The black edition adds gold pinstriping, chrome accents and a quilted seat, but the price gap between the variants is narrow—buyers can choose colour over cost.
Under the hood nothing has changed. The 652 cc, liquid‑cooled single cylinder still churns out 45 hp and 55 Nm, paired with a 5‑speed gearbox. The powertrain is the same that has made the Gold Star a favorite for both commutes and weekend rides.
For an enthusiast weighing options, the price spread of ₹3.42 lakh to ₹3.65 lakh is sensible. Compared to the Royal Enfield Classic 350’s ₹4.41 lakh launch price or the Yamaha MT‑15’s ₹5.08 lakh, the Gold Star sits comfortably in the mid‑range segment, offering a classic British‑style look at a lower cost.
Dealers will start stocking the new colours from the beginning of June, with the launch events slated for Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Test‑ride drives are expected to be available on weekends, giving buyers a chance to feel the new paintwork in real traffic before making a decision.
