If you’re hunting a scooter this year, Honda’s aggressive production push could tighten supply and shift pricing.
Last year the brand shipped 5.75 million units—a 4.3 % jump from FY25—and now eyes 6 million for FY27.
The first half of FY27 already saw a 13.5 % lift in domestic dispatches, taking Honda to a 25 % share in a market that grew 17.6 % to 12.09 million units.
Scooters make up 60 % of Honda’s volume, eclipsing the industry average of 40 %, positioning the marque as a go‑to for commuters.
To keep up, Honda plans to lift capacity from 6.5 million to 8 million units by 2028, adding two new assembly lines in Rajasthan and Gujarat, earmarked for ICE, flex‑fuel and EV options.
