Hero Motors logged a net profit of ₹10.2 crore for Q2, a 117 % jump from ₹4.73 crore last year, while revenue rose 24.9 % to ₹319.3 crore.
EBITDA surged 92 % YoY to ₹35.9 crore, lifting the margin to 11.3 % from 7.3 %. The lift places Hero at the top tier of auto‑components peers, whose average margin sits near 8 %.
The company also announced a move to buy an additional 39 % stake in Hewland Engineering for roughly £0.60 million, or about ₹3.3 crore, in cash. The transaction covers 8,039 equity shares and will take the parent’s holding in HEL from 51 % to 90 % upon completion, expected within six months.
Shares closed at ₹155.60 on the BSE, up ₹0.10 or 0.064 % on the day, after a 20 % rally sparked by the earnings beat and the stake‑expansion plan. The lift mirrors the 12 % gain seen in the auto‑components sector last week.
Analysts are watching the next quarter’s guidance, expecting continued margin expansion as Hero ramps up production for high‑performance drivetrains. Investors will also focus on the timing of the Hewland stake completion and any regulatory approvals.
