On Wednesday, 30 September 2026, the BJP’s Kerala headquarters in Mararji Bhavan was struck by bottles and stones while the vehicle of party national executive member PK Krishnadas was vandalised earlier that evening.
The assault unfolded amid a black‑flag protest outside Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s residence in Kollam, a rally that BJP said had heightened political tensions across the state.
BJP’s state unit condemned the violence as a “challenge to the basic values of democracy” and accused Congress workers of vandalising Krishnadas’ car in Neyyattinkara, framing the attack as a turn to violence rather than politics.
In response, the BJP announced a state‑wide agitation on Thursday, promising rallies in major towns and a march to the state capital to protest the assault and refuse to bow to violence.
