YSRCP sent a letter to the Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission, urging an all‑party meeting before the election notification is released this year. The letter cites stalled issuance of caste, community and no‑dues/NOC certificates, blaming a statewide server failure that has left many voters in limbo.
The party calls for an impartial inquiry into the conduct of senior Grama Ward Sachivalayam officials and demands that district authorities expedite certificate processing without obstruction. It also asks for a statewide review of ward delimitation before finalisation, arguing that current boundaries could skew representation.
On municipal elections, YSRCP demands that ward‑wise electoral rolls be prepared only after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and final roll publication, as per court directives. The party also wants clarity on reservations, seat rotation, election scheduling, nomination scrutiny, mayoral and chairperson elections, and enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct.
The party stresses that an inclusive consultation will safeguard every eligible candidate’s opportunity and every voter’s right, thereby bolstering public confidence in a process slated to finish by December 2026. YSRCP further requests the SEC to circulate the meeting agenda in advance and issue written clarifications post‑meeting.
The Andhra Pradesh SEC is preparing to conduct local body elections in phases, with the final completion aimed for December. Official polling dates remain unannounced, and the commission has yet to confirm whether it will heed YSRCP’s call for a pre‑notification meeting.
