Vinfast’s first‑hand sales of 14,637 EVs in just 14 months have pushed the Vietnamese‑owned brand to the fourth spot in India’s crowded electric‑vehicle market—behind Tata, Mahindra and JSW MG. For the average buyer, that means a new contender is now offering a 532‑km range on a single charge, a figure that rivals the Tata Harrier EV and sits comfortably above the mainstream Hyundai Creta Electric.
The star of the show is the VF7, a 7‑seater e‑SUV that starts at ₹22.99 lakh and tops out at ₹28.09 lakh. It comes with 59.6‑kWh or 70‑kWh battery packs, with the larger pack giving an ARAI‑claimed 532‑km range. The top‑spec Sky Infinity variant can sprint from 0‑100 km/h in 5.8 seconds, making it one of the fastest mass‑market EVs in India. In plain terms, you’re looking at a family‑friendly SUV that can cover a city‑to‑city round trip without a recharge and does it in a blur.
Just below the VF7 is the VF6, priced from ₹18.19 lakh to ₹20.09 lakh. It carries a 59.6‑kWh pack and offers either 177‑hp or 204‑hp motors, with a 0‑100 time of 8.9 seconds and a 463‑480 km range. Competitors in this price bracket include the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV and Tata Sierra EV. For buyers on a tighter budget, the VF6 delivers a solid balance of performance, range and price, all while maintaining a 5‑star Bharat NCAP safety rating.
Vinfast is also pushing the Limo Green 7‑seater into the commercial fleet arena, with an estimated 7,000 units sold in the first half of FY2027. The Limo Green, priced around ₹22.99 lakh, offers a 517‑km range on a 60.13‑kWh pack and is already the top‑selling model in the manufacturer’s wholesale distribution. The single‑variant VF MPV‑7 sits at ₹24.49 lakh, targets families who need that extra row, and competes with the Kia Carens Clavis and BYD eMax 7.
Production runs out of Vinfast’s Thoothukudi plant, where 14,116 vehicles were built in the first half of FY2027, and the company is ramping up factory dispatches to showrooms. With retail sales already breaking the 1,000‑unit mark each month and a peak of 3,292 units in September, Vinfast is clearly not a niche player. Buyers can expect the VF7 and VF6 to hit most major cities by late 2027, while the Limo Green and MPV‑7 will be available in commercial hubs earlier. Keep an eye on the brand’s next‑gen battery tech and any policy incentives that could shave a few lakhs off the sticker price.
