Fishermen along the Andaman Sea have been told to remain ashore until September 21, while those near the east central Bay of Bengal are cautioned to avoid the sea until September 22.
Emergency services in Odisha are mobilizing shelters and water‑rescue teams as the system is expected to keep the state under red, orange and yellow alerts until September 27.
The next IMD bulletin, scheduled for September 24, will refine wind and rainfall estimates and determine whether further red alerts become necessary.
