Dehradun police scrambled to trace Dheeraj Panwar on Monday morning after he allegedly shot his wife, Kajal Panwar, dead in the Clement Town area. The 26-year-old victim was found deceased in a residence near the Satya Sai Temple in Subhash Nagar, a location identified by tracing the call made by the accused.
Circle Officer (Sadar) Ankit Kandari confirmed that Panwar called the control room around 6:00 am to report the killing. When officers from the Clement Town station attempted to contact him for backup, his phone was already switched off. "We traced the location of the call," Kandari said. "We reached the plot in Subhash Nagar and recovered the body."
Kajal’s brother, Abhishek, who resides near the crime scene, filed the murder complaint. He told police that his sister and her husband had been locked in a heated dispute over the past several days. The couple hails from the Purkaji area of Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh. Police have collected evidence from the scene and are currently conducting raids at various locations to arrest Panwar.
