The Ministry of Culture launched the eighth edition of the PM Mementos e‑Auction on September 17, drawing more than 1,500 items ranging from temple replicas to sporting jerseys.
Among the highlights were replicas of the Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple in Vadnagar and the Somnath Temple, as well as a miniature of AIIMS Rajkot and a semiconductor plaque commemorating INS Vikrant’s launch.
The auction also showcased the para table tennis team’s autographed jersey and Avani Lekhara’s competition jacket, underscoring India’s recent Paralympic success.
All proceeds will feed the Namami Gange Programme, which aims to restore the Ganga’s ecological balance, and the campaign has already gathered over Rs 50 crore in prior editions.
A 28‑year‑old textile designer from Bhuj, Rajesh Kumar, hopes to use his bid to fund a community school, illustrating how the auction reaches beyond elite collectors.
The auction runs until October 3, with final bids to be announced by noon on that day.
