A Russian soldier broke cover and dashed across a street toward the next building outside a Ukrainian operations centre, while a small red light flickered on the centre’s monitoring screen.
The flickering red light, part of the facility’s early‑warning system, triggered an immediate lockdown protocol that was carried out by the centre’s security team.
Ukrainian Defence Ministry officials confirmed that the soldier was intercepted before reaching the building, and the Ministry said the incident highlighted vulnerabilities in the perimeter defenses of key command posts.
No injuries were reported on either side, and the incident has spurred Ukrainian command to conduct a comprehensive review of security measures at all operational hubs.
