Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) has rolled out a new online booking platform for liquor, letting Delhi residents reserve and pay for bottles from 208 government‑run outlets without stepping into a shop.
The system generates a QR code after payment; customers must present it at the selected shop within 48 hours to collect the bottles.
Applicants must be at least 25 years old, and purchase limits of nine litres of whisky or eighteen litres of beer remain in force.
DSIIDC is one of four government corporations that run over 700 liquor outlets across Delhi, but the online booking is currently restricted to its 208 stores.
A spokesperson said early uptake has been lukewarm, and that the service will only expand if more customers use it.
The next review will take place in September, according to a DSIIDC official, who said the corporation will consider adding home delivery after a pilot test.
