Three Hyderabad men—Mohammed Mohinuddin (24), Mohammed Rizwan (21), and Tohid (19)—were seized by police on Oct. 6 after performing high‑speed scooter stunts on the Secunderabad flyover. The trio, all riding Honda Dio scooters without number plates, posted wheelie videos on Instagram that later went viral.
Hyderabad Traffic Police said the suspects had been captured on CCTV footage, showing them riding at speeds up to 80 km/h while executing wheelies and other dangerous moves. The authorities filed a charge under Section 27 of the Motor Vehicles Act on Oct. 7, citing reckless driving and unauthorized use of public roads.
The police warned that wrong‑side driving, plate removal, and stunt riding on flyovers would attract strict penalties, with parents also potentially liable if they provide vehicles to minors or unlicensed riders.
A Secunderabad resident who witnessed the stunts described the scene as "a nightmare for commuters" and urged the police to clamp down on such reckless behaviour.
The suspects remain in custody while the case is slated for a hearing before the Hyderabad Traffic Court, with the next session scheduled for the following week.
