The electric three-wheeler market in India is heating up, and Bengaluru-based iGowise Mobility is making its move before the festive season. The company has opened applications for dealership partners under its Franchise Owned, Franchise Operated (FOFO) model, with customer deliveries for the BE iGO X4 planned to begin this Diwali. For buyers in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, this means the vehicle will soon be available for test rides, moving beyond just a concept or pre-launch buzz.
The BE iGO X4 isn't your typical auto-rickshaw. It’s an electric narrow-tilting utility vehicle designed for last-mile delivery, small businesses, and even family use. The standout feature is its anti-topple tilting system, which allows the vehicle to lean into corners like a two-wheeler, while twin rear wheels provide the carrying capacity associated with traditional three-wheelers. Under the hood—or rather, under the floor—it packs dual-wheel drive with 120 Nm of torque and uses a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery certified to AIS-156 standards. It’s a CMVR-certified, high-speed registered model, which sets it apart from lower-speed utility vehicles.
For entrepreneurs looking to join the network, the investment barrier is relatively low. iGowise is offering an 800 sq ft experience-centre format with an estimated investment of ₹15-20 lakh, including inventory and working capital. A larger 1,800 sq ft showroom format is available for high-demand city-centre locations. The company projects that a compact outlet selling 20 vehicles a month could recover its investment in about 16 months, though this is a company estimate and actual returns will depend on local sales and operating costs. Dealers are offered a base margin of 10% per vehicle, with higher margins tied to sales volumes.
iGowise isn’t just looking for any dealer. The FOFO model targets mobility entrepreneurs, distributors, and established business owners who have local market knowledge and automotive industry experience. The company is also offering a Franchise Owned, Company Operated (FOCO) model for investors who want to fund a retail outlet without managing daily operations. Under FOCO, iGowise recruits, trains, and manages the staff, and investors receive a priority share of store earnings. The company targets an internal rate of return (IRR) of 24% or more at steady-state sales.
The rollout is strategic. iGowise plans to expand across five cities in the next six months: Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, and Panaji. After that, the focus shifts to South and Central India before a pan-India network. The company is also evaluating international markets, including Kenya and Nigeria. For now, the immediate market for the BE iGO X4 is the last-mile delivery and small business segment, where reliability, range, and low operating costs are critical. The Diwali launch date is the key milestone to watch, as it will determine how quickly the vehicle gains traction in key urban hubs.
