Jalandhar DCP Aditya Warrior announced that a special raid on a Mahindra Scorpio in Jandiala Mor on 18 September 2023 unmasked a gun‑running ring linked to Punjabi YouTuber Manpreet Singh alias Mani Shoker. When police stopped the vehicle, Singh tried to shoot at officers—only to be subdued and handcuffed.
Investigators recovered a Glock 19 Gen4, a Romanian‑made Cugir TT‑C, two Walther PP pistols and an unmarked firearm, along with 15 live rounds. The weapons’ foreign origin points to a clandestine import network.
The arrest triggered a case filing at Sadar police station under Section 109 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 25/27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act. DCP Warrior said the accused face charges for trafficking prohibited armaments.
Police are probing the supply chain, tracing customs records and interviewing alleged intermediaries. The recovered firearms are being catalogued as evidence in a request for a forensic report.
The suspects are currently held at Jalandhar Central Jail, with a court appearance scheduled for 5 October. The investigation will continue to map the broader network of illegal weapons dealers.
