The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the Gulfstream G100 went silent in the early hours of Saturday, triggering an immediate response from the US Coast Guard. The jet had lifted off from LF Wade International Airport in Bermuda overnight, bound for Massachusetts. It never arrived. The last known position placed the aircraft off the coast of Nantucket, a busy maritime corridor where the search is now intensifying.
Skyport, the operator of the Bermuda airport, verified the manifest: four crew members and two passengers. The plane was operating as an air ambulance, a high-stakes mission where mechanical failure or sudden loss of comms can escalate into a catastrophe within minutes. The Coast Guard deployed both aerial and maritime assets to the zone, sweeping the waters for debris or a distress beacon. No wreckage has been confirmed as of this update.
The National Transportation Safety Board activated its incident command structure on Saturday morning. Investigators are pulling black box data, flight plans, and radar logs to reconstruct the final moments of the flight. This is not a routine missing plane scenario; the specific loss of contact during a trans-Atlantic hop raises immediate questions about fuel reserves, weather deviations, or technical glitches in the avionics suite.
For now, the focus remains on the Nantucket sector. The Coast Guard will continue the grid search until they locate the aircraft or exhaust probability zones. Families of the six individuals on board have not yet been identified publicly, but local authorities in Massachusetts are preparing for the worst-case scenario while the rescue window closes.
