Devpalik Gupta’s body was found by police near pole 379/18 on the Ranchi‑Muri line, close to Jarwadih village, in the early hours of Tuesday.
Gautam Kumar Rajwar, officer‑in‑charge of Angara police station, told PTI that the preliminary findings point to an accidental fall from the moving train.
Gupta, 31, had boarded the Ranchi‑Patna Janshatabdi Express on Monday; his family reported him missing after the train reached Patna.
The body will be taken to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi for a post‑mortem examination, and the police will file an unnatural‑death case.
