Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s Punjab government has hauled back more than a dozen gangsters from overseas, including Karamveer Deo, after his arrest at Delhi airport on Tuesday.
The operation was led by the Anti‑Gangster Task Force, which coordinated with Canadian, U.S., and UAE officials to secure extradition of the fugitives.
Other fugitives returned include Sachin Bishnoi from the United States, Amritpal ‘Mehro’ from Dubai, Gurvinder Singh from Malaysia, and Amrit Dalam from Moldova.
Baltej Pannu, Punjab’s AAP media in‑charge, praised the crackdown, saying the Mann administration "has made Punjab safe by dismantling criminal networks that once thrived under the previous Congress rule."
Punjab Police will now issue warrants for remaining suspects and seek judicial orders for their extradition, with a hearing scheduled for next week in the Punjab High Court.
