Zelenskyy says Russia launched more than 320 missiles and drones against 15 critical power facilities across Ukraine between 7pm Friday and 7am Saturday. Ukraine is scrambling to restore power while calling for stronger international support to prevent a winter blackout.
The barrage came from Russian airspace over Donetsk and Kharkiv, using a mix of Shahed drones, loitering munitions and cruise missiles that struck power plants, substations and transmission lines.
Regions hardest hit include Lutsk, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Shepetivka, Slavuta and Netishyn, where crews are working around the clock to bring electricity back to homes.
Ukrainian air defence shot down dozens of incoming weapons, but the sheer volume has strained repair crews and depleted fuel reserves, according to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Energy.
Zelenskyy also slammed Washington for ignoring the Lindsey Graham Act, arguing that the U.S. must enforce harsher sanctions to curb Moscow's aggressions.
The president urged European partners to expedite new aid packages and pledged a rapid meeting with UN Security Council next week to address the growing crisis.
