U.S. officials warned Ukraine that Washington could suspend intelligence sharing and halt European purchases of U.S. weapons for Kyiv unless Kyiv stopped attacking Russian energy facilities, according to two European officials cited by CNN.
The warning targets the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List, a NATO-backed system that funds U.S. arms for Kyiv and could cut Patriot missile deliveries.
Washington had first suspended intelligence sharing in March 2025 after a heated meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy, only to resume it following a ceasefire proposal in Saudi Arabia.
Zelenskyy said he had stopped targeting Russian energy sites since the ceasefire announcement and is ready to honour the deal, but he doubts Moscow will reciprocate after recent strikes that left a Kharkiv family without power for days.
Trump declared the ceasefire effective immediately in a tweet, urging both sides not to break it, while Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declined to confirm Moscow's acceptance.
If Kyiv fails to stop its energy attacks, Washington could enforce the intelligence and weapons cut, leaving Ukrainian forces without critical missile detection and defensive support, a move that will reshape battlefield dynamics.
