The joint venture, now officially named Faurecia Anand Seating India, caps an initial ₹20‑crore equity injection.
Gabriel India holds a razor‑thin 50 % minus one share stake, while Faurecia’s subsidiary contributes a 50 % plus one share controlling stake. The split reflects a balanced partnership, with each side contributing ₹10 crore.
Forvia, the global automotive seating player, has been eyeing the Indian market for years, but until now lacked the local OEM ties that Anand Group brings. Anand Group’s network spans over a dozen Tier‑1 suppliers and several emerging Indian OEMs, giving the JV a launchpad into the domestic supply chain.
Industry watchers note that the JV aims for roughly a 10 % market share within five years, a figure that would place it behind the likes of Bosch and Mahindra but ahead of most niche players.
For buyers, this could translate into more readily available seating options, potentially lower lead times, and a slight dip in vehicle component costs as supply competition tightens.
Seats are slated to roll out of the new plant by the end of 2026, with first deliveries expected to major OEMs in Hyderabad and Pune.
