The Indian Embassy in Riyadh warned nationals to stay indoors and monitor official channels following a Houthi missile strike that killed an Indian citizen on Oct. 10, 2026.
The attack on King Khalid International Airport on Saturday killed 13 people and left more than 300 injured, including a 32‑year‑old Indian man, Mohammad Yousuf Ali, who succumbed to his wounds the next day.
Yousuf’s family endured a brutal night: his two sons were hospitalized, one undergoing knee surgery while the other suffered toe amputation, and his wife and daughter were left traumatised but alive. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi confirmed the identity and noted that his brother‑in‑law remains in Riyadh.
The embassy has opened a 24‑hour helpline (8002471234) and provided additional contact numbers for assistance: +966‑11‑488469 and +966‑536216082 (WhatsApp only). It has pledged to facilitate the early repatriation of Yousuf’s body and to keep families updated.
This incident follows a string of attacks on Riyadh’s airport in the past week, all attributed to the Houthi movement. Saudi airspace and airport security have been under heightened scrutiny ever since.
Indian nationals in the Kingdom are urged to remain vigilant, avoid public gatherings, and heed instructions from local authorities. The embassy will issue further updates as the situation evolves.
