The operation followed a week‑long probe that traced money flows across multiple payment platforms, exposing a network that funneled funds from the public to LeT and its proxy, the Resistance Front.
The arrests named Owais Shafi Naikoo of Saidpora Bala, Tajamul Ahmad Shah of Rawalpora, Moiz Iqbal of Chitragam Kalan, Imdad Yousuf Ganie of Chitragam Kalan, Saqib Zahoor Wani of Murran, Aamir Ahmad Ganie of Armolah, Firdous Thokar of Nadigund, Liyaqat Nazir Lone of Murran, Mohd Hanief of Check Haria, and Kaju of Check Haria.
Police said the money was routed into prison logistics, notably smuggling smartphones that let jailed commanders maintain contact with handlers outside. The phones enabled them to direct operations from behind bars.
Investigators are mapping the wider network and expect additional arrests. A shopkeeper in Saidpora Bala, who unknowingly donated ₹5,000, has been questioned, highlighting how the scheme reached ordinary citizens.
