The prime minister launched a Rs 14,000 crore development plan in Banaskantha, Gujarat, on Friday, drawing a throng of locals along his roadshow route.
Alongside Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, Modi highlighted a mix of infrastructure and agricultural initiatives, from a bovine breeding centre to two Bio‑CNG plants, all aimed at boosting rural incomes.
He will lay foundation stones for the 127‑acre Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre in Bhildi, a Centre of Excellence for genetic improvement, and for Bio‑CNG plants at Tharad and Radhanpur, with processing capacities of 75 and 100 tonnes per day.
The visit also saw the release of the 24th installment of the PM‑KISAN Samman Nidhi scheme, adding about ₹19,000 crore to aid over 85% of India’s smallholders, and a push to connect 26 crore farmers to Soil Health Cards.
After Banaskantha, Modi will head to Ekta Nagar to inaugurate Bharat Parv 2026 and attend Narmada Aarti, marking Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 151st birth anniversary, before returning to Delhi.
