Shraddha Dubey, who has built a following as a makeup artist and influencer, has released a five‑minute video in which she claims the relationship with businessman Shiva Sharma had been strained for days before his fatal fall from a fourth‑floor balcony at her Lucknow flat on Oct. 8. In the clip, she insists the couple had not spoken for six to seven days and that he had called her driver via a tea vendor, crying, before she finally reached him at 2 a.m.
Sharma, the owner of a small restaurant chain, reportedly carried heavy debts—reported by Dubey to be between ₹15 to 20 lakh—prompting him to threaten suicide if repayment failed. Dubey says that the financial pressure, coupled with her insistence on a marriage arrangement, drove him to a desperate act, though she maintains she did not push him to jump.
A police FIR filed in Lucknow lists Dubey, her sister Rashmi, driver Danish, associate Adil and several unnamed individuals as accused. The document details the alleged timeline of events, including a visit by Rashmi on Oct. 8 for a Navratri puja, the couple’s walk with friends, and the final confrontation that culminated in the balcony incident.
Sharma’s mother, Ranjana, has denied the influencer’s claims, alleging that Dubey threatened to circulate obscene videos of her son and that he suffered physical abuse. She further accuses the influencer of threatening to implicate him in a theft case once discussions about marriage began.
The case has now been forwarded to the Lucknow district court, where a preliminary hearing is scheduled for the week of November 15. The court will decide whether the accused should be remanded for investigation or placed in custody while the investigation proceeds.
