Sofia Coppola and Monastery unveiled a rosewood‑infused facial mist for guests at Belize's Blancaneaux resort on 15 March 2024, a move that blends cinematic heritage with boutique skincare.
The 20‑room lodge, nestled amid pine and river, opened to the public in 1993 after Francis Ford Coppola converted his abandoned hunting lodge into a family retreat in 1981.
Sofia, who grew up hiking the nearby streams, said the resort feels like a living memory of her childhood. "I still hear my brothers laughing in the river," she told the press.
Athena Hewett, founder of San Francisco‑based Monastery, explained that the mist uses rosewood, rose and orchid oil sourced from Central America. "We wanted a product that echoes the lodge’s natural vibe," she said.
The launch is part of Blancaneaux’s strategy to boost tourism during the off‑season. Local employees will receive training to administer the treatments, and the resort will sell the mist in its gift shop.
A press release scheduled for next Friday will announce the mist’s online availability, and the resort plans to host a launch event for regional travel influencers.
